MEN- Do you like action, suspense, mystery? Did I mention guns, ghosts, murder, buildings on fire! I'm sure that many readers in this genre are women. I just want to advocate for the male reader; or at least to suggest that female reader share this title with a guy. Yes- it does have some of the conventions of a supernatural romance; but it has more to offer than any harlequin novel. I like a novel that has rich characters, a compelling story, and fast-paced action. This book is a triple-threat and I will read it again. I want to see what J.J. Martin comes up with next. It is a riveting, fast-paced read that incorporates all things that I like - thriller, paranormal, with a hint of romance. I felt like I identified with the lead character and at times, wanted to BE her!! The delivery is intelligent, yet conversational, as if I was chatting with my best friend over drinkks, hanging on the edge for the next part of her story. I typically go to bed very early but this book kept me up well past my bedtime because I did not want to take a break from the story. Can't wait for more published work from JJ Martin. |
